    Description

    Yan Ting is one of the city’s most ethereal Cantonese restaurants, tucked away in the regal St. Regis hotel. It’s a favourite amongst discerning diners looking for a quiet and discreet location for a luxurious and refined dimsum brunch, or more elaborate Cantonese feasts for special occasions. Expect the height of fine Chinese cuisine, shot through with the balance and richness of pure Cantonese cuisine. Nothing says special occasion quite like a Braised Whole Abalone in Superior Oyster Sauce, an entire lobe of the meaty treasure in an umami broth, paired with crunchy seasonal greens. A similar, less wallet-busting dish is the Braised Sea Supreme Cucumber with Corn Broth, a lovely blend of savoury and sweet flavours with the incomparable texture of high quality sea cucumber.

    Cantonese cuisine is nothing without a soup centrepiece, and here there’s a stunning Double-boiled Sea Whelk Consommé with Garlic, served in a teapot for some extra theatre with the deep oceaney flavours. Meat dishes here come with a similarly high-end flourish. Think Pan-Fried Chicken with Morel in Superior Soy Sauce, a humble poultry dish given a dramatic gourmet kick with the addition of rare, earthy morels.
