    Description

Marbled slabs of pork belly or premium beef cuts are usually the meats of choice at most Japanese BBQ restaurants. But over at The Hitsuji Club, it's all about lamb in varying cuts. This intimate 20-seater specialises in jingisukan, a popular Hokkaido dish where mutton is grilled over a skillet. The chef’s insistence to use only grain-fed, chilled baby lamb from Australia or New Zealand means you don’t get the gamey smell so often associated with this meat. Instead, the grilled lamb chops are juicy and tender, with a clean, milky taste.

Try the specialty Jingisukan With Lamb Chop set, which comes with different cuts such as the fillet, loin, and chops. Grilled together with plump mushrooms and fresh vegetables for an added crunch, the set can be considered a delicious and satisfying meal on its own. If you’re still feeling a tad peckish, add on some cheese miso and lotus root chips for nibbles. (Mar 2019)
