    Description

The Book Café had its Genesis as the café of MPH Bookshop on Stamford Road. A standalone branch opened at Martin Road in September 2000, and following a management buyout from MPH, it has remained a family-owned establishment ever since.

Over the years, it has grown into a laid-back second living room - a place to browse books, magazines, and the web. Sink into one of our comfy sofas, eat comfort food you can always count on, and drink coffee, tea, and other homemade thirst-quenchers.

As a second living room in the heart of Robertson Quay, we've stood the test of time by staying true to what matters: being gracious hosts, adding a dash of love to everything we make, and growing enduring friendships with those who walk through our doors.

Part café, part bookshop, part dining room - this is a space where people come to slow down, connect, and eat well. Everything on this menu is made with care, and we hope it shows.

Whether you're here for a long brunch, a working lunch, a slow dinner, or simply a good cup of coffee and something sweet - welcome. (Aug2026)
