    Booked the restaurant for CNY reunion dinner. We waited for more than an hour before the first dish was served. Thereafter, we had to continue waiting for the food to be served between each dish, though the dishes were intended to be consumed together with rice. Restaurant was unfortunately understaffed and food service did not appear to be efficiently thought out. Food was pretty tasted but the ambience and service was a dampener on the festivities.

    A name synonymous with Peranakan food, Straits Chinese Nonya Restaurant is Singapore’s oldest nyonya restaurant, serving food made with three generations of love since 1953.

    Building on the legacy, the restaurant uses secret recipes handed down generations to bring an authentic Peranakan cuisine made from the freshest ingredients and select choice of spices. For a complete Peranakan experience, the Ala Carte Nonya Buffet is an ideal choice. Start with an appetiser of your choice before moving on to the mains such as Ayam Buah Keluak, Udang Sambal, Beef Rendang and more. There’s something for everyone here as the buffet serves all kinds of meat and vegetables. Pair your meal with a traditional Chin Chow or Lime Cordial to cleanse your palate.
