    We ordered the kai lan with garlic, 2 bakwan kepiting soups, dry laksa, beef rendang, 2 coffees and a chendol to share. Overkill - eyes bigger than the stomach😂. The Burmese service staff aced it with his attention. Overall great food. Only complaint - the hot coffee was too little. More for sniffing than drinking. A glass of kopi tiam style coffee would finish the meal beautifully. All in all a lovely experience. Total bill was $81.53 for 2.

    I recently had the opportunity to dine at Restaurant Peranakan on Owen Road and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The food was authentic and flavorful. The dishes were well-prepared, with rich spices and balanced flavors that brought out the traditional taste of home-cooked Peranakan food. Standout dishes included the Ayam Buah Keluak, rendang and fried fish, all of which were delicious and thoughtfully presented. The service was attentive and friendly. The overall dining experience felt welcoming and unhurried, making it an excellent place for family gatherings and casual meals with friends.     As a Mcca nonya, I rated only 4 stars cos their desserts failed. The apom berkuah was puffy and nice but the gravy was too diluted n the pisang was not soft enough - pisang raja wld have made a big difference too. The durian pengat lacked the durian taste n flavour as durian too finely processed. The beef rendang (melt in the mouth) and sambal brinjal were excellent. But overall, a good meal
