    Description

    Standing as a bastion of heartfelt Italian cuisine since 1995, Michelangelo's has recently launched a new a la carte menu that goes right back to their roots: traditional, home-cooked Italian cuisine at an exceptional price point. Service here is warm, friendly, and personal. Helmed by the affable Jacylyn, service is as much part of the nostalgic charm of the restaurant as the timeless dishes they have on offer. Their outdoor tables have a casual elegance that look (and feel) incredibly comfortable, and during the drier months of Singapore's skies, are an excellent place to have a long, wine-enriched dinner with friends.

    On the new menu, the Appetizers section is headlined with Michelangelo's famed Calamari Fritti. The light crunchy morsels come with two dipping sauces, and it's no wonder they come highly recommended by regulars and staff alike. The menu now offers two pasta sections: Pasta Classico which offers a range of Singapore’s favourite pasta selections, and Pasta Speciali where all your Michelangelo's signatures return to delight you once more. There are, of course, non-pasta options like the Seafood Cartoccio, which is a sublime medley of seafood cooked in a white wine and tomato broth wrapped in a paper package.

    "Taking over the space that was formerly occupied by Michelangelo's is this new Italian concept with more homey dishes on the menu. The vibe and decor is kept pretty similar with a dark color scheme and plush booth seats accented with red. On the menu are dishes like caprese salads ($19) and their forte of risotto dishes like truffle and mushroom ($36), as well as seafood squid ink ($34)." -SG Now
