    Description

One of the pioneers of Japanese cuisine in Singapore, Kotobuki has been turning out classic Japanese food to eager Singaporeans since 1981. Each of its restaurant is done up in a traditional fashion, with sliding doors, burnished wooden tables, bamboo finishings, and Japanese paintings ushering you into an alluring Zen-influenced world. Tuck into delicious traditional Japanese cuisine prepared by a culinary team headed by Master Chef Murata Tomoya, a veteran of over 20 years from Fukuoka who also happens to be a licensed fugu (or pufferfish) chef.

What you get here is a comprehensive, izakaya-like menu of Japanese favourites, including simmered nabemono like mixed seafood stewed in a rich miso broth, hearty ramen, grilled skewered meats, fluffy onigiri, and, of course, lots of sake. For longer-drawn meals, there’s also a selection of excellent, freshly-prepared sushi and sashimi, everything from delicate fingers of nigiri sushi to the more elaborate maki, rolled with vegetables and seafood then topped with glazed ingredients like seared salmon or grilled eel. There’s really something here for any Japanese food craving, whether it’s some hot Nikujaga - a beef and vegetable stew - for a rainy day or just some oden and other bar bites with beers after work, the idea here is that once you step into Kotobuki, the whole wealth of Japanese cuisine is at your fingertips.
