    Description

Enter Koma and transport yourself on a journey to Japan you’ll wanna write home about. From its rather discreet entrance, you’ll make your way through the Fushimi Inari-like shrine into a haven that expertly blends both the kitsch and classic — think opulent lanterns and Japanese bridges amidst plush chairs and luxury fittings. Located at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands, Koma Singapore will not disappoint if you’re looking for a visual feast.

Koma Singapore’s interior is designed by renowned American design firm Rockwell Group, and it’s a truly one-of-a-kind work of art. From its dramatic entrance all the way into the belly of the restaurant, the venue looks like something out of a dream, with glass owls (representing wisdom, luck and good fortune) lining both the bar and a large wood "grid" suspended from the ceiling. You cannot miss the imposing 2.5 metre-high Japanese bell, with 20 different faces that overlook a traditional Japanese footbridge and reflecting pool which is now the social media must-have shot for every Instagram and Tik Tok share.

The dining room at Koma is designed to mimic the surface of a pond, with decorative acoustic panels in the shape of lily pads on the soaring seven-metre high ceiling. Anchoring the expansive and spacious room is the 15-seat sushi bar which showcases a dazzling display of the day's freshest offerings. If more intimate settings are more your thing, the mezzanine floor also houses a semi-private dining room that facilitates smaller group gatherings, while still offering an expansive view of the action below.

    Koma Japanese Restaurant: Singapore Menu

Serving exquisite modern Japanese food, Koma offers an extensive menu that brings modern thoughtful touches to traditional dishes. For their small dishes, you can select from a curated section that includes the freshest array of sushi and sashimi (their makis are delicious), a combination of cold and hot bites (more unique dishes include salmon pillows and taro chip tuna tacos), or even robata-grilled skewers and tempura.

Their mains range from Truffled Fried Rice, to Wafu carbonara with Uni and show- stopping Japanese Wagyu. If you’re out for a particularly decadent event, all their mains can also be garnished with additional shavings of fresh black truffle!
Want something light yet filling at the same time? Opt for their famous dessert called BONSAI. Fashioned to resemble the storied Japanese plant, expect to dig into molten dark chocolate with crunchy praline and a side of ice cream. You might be fooled into thinking it’s an actual bonsai — everything is edible, even the ‘pot’!

If you prefer an omakase experience, they have sets available for both lunch and dinner. Leave everything to the expert chefs and be wowed and game for whatever they decide to serve that day.

    Koma Japanese Restaurant: MBS Reservation

The ultimate date night location, Koma’s ideal for couples looking for an intimate experience. It’s also great for groups of friends who want to enjoy something totally unique and creative. Reservations are strongly recommended as seating can get crowded during peak hours— especially on weekends!
