    Description

There's something faintly subversive about eating well at the movies again, and at Shaw Theatres Lido, Centro makes the case with easy, magnetic confidence. The new all-in-one dining playground arrives with serious pedigree, shaped with guidance from Stephanie Hancock and Guy Wachs of Wild Honey fame, and it shows. Rather than replacing the pre-show ritual, Centro elevates it, turning a quick stop into something you might actually plan around.

Start at the espresso and matcha bar, where Toby's Estate beans anchor a lineup of drinks that feel both playful and precise. The salted caramel popcorn latte lands as a knowing crowd pleaser with just enough polish. Upstairs, the dining room opens onto Orchard Road in a sweep of light and motion that feels cinematic in its own right. The menu moves confidently across borders, from Brazilian cheese bread to bright ceviche and pepperberry-laced pasta, delivering bold flavours without losing its accessibility.

Even the grab-and-go counter feels considered, with pillowy baos and hand-stretched pizzas that far exceed their cinema brief, while the cocktail bar hums with just enough glamour to pull you in before or after the credits roll. Centro is not trying to outshine the film. It simply makes everything around it far more worth showing up for. (Mar 2026)
