Blanco Court Fish Soup & Fish Head Steamboat 白兰阁鱼汤. 鱼头炉

We were patrons when they were at Alexandra Central and happy that they reopened at Bukit Merah Central. Their fish head steamboat is as good as before with robust stock filled with cabbage, yam, tofu, seaweed, and flavoured with a hint of Chinese herbs and sour plum. We opted for fish slices instead of fish head, and the fish was fresh and in thick slices. For a group of 4, we chose the set for 2-3 pax which includes the steamboat, one meat dish and one veg dish for $49 which is really great value. Prawn paste chicken was excellent, they used mid-joints which were very crispy outside and moist inside with the umami flavour of prawn paste. For the veg we chose spinach with 3 egg, one of the best renditions of the dish I've tried as the stock was solid with the flavours of the 3 eggs. Although the dishes were part of the set, they were pretty substantial portions. We added one homemade tofu which was well-executed with a delicious sauce. The food took a while to arrive though.
