    The food was great. We loved the tea-smoked sesame chicken, the steamed croaker with yellow chilli, and the crispy rice with signature broth. We were in a private room and would have appreciated a buzzer to summon the service staff when needed rather than to exit the room to look for them. Having said that service staff was very pleasant.

    We took the private room as we have 2 elderlies on wheelchair. The service staff were very accomodating and attentive to our needs and reqeusts. Much appreciated. We also enjoyed the food and presentation.

    Description

    Ban Lan is a Michelin-selected restaurant, with its first overseas outpost right here in Singapore. Just like its flagship in China, Ban Lan continues its reverence for authentic Hokkien flavours, where traditional Fujian dishes are thoughtfully updated, focusing on lighter seasoning and pure, delicate flavours with a strong emphasis on seafood and soups that highlight the natural essence of the ingredients. At Ban Lan, the geographical environment of China’s southeastern Fujian province is celebrated, a location hidden by the mountains and facing the abundant sea.

    Leading Ban Lan is Fujian native and veteran Chef Sun Xiao Yang, with 18 years of experience under his belt. Chef Sun is also a proud disciple of Chef Wu Rong – whose accolades include a one-Michelin Star recognition and the 2024 Chef of the Year by the Black Pearl Restaurant Guide. (Nov 2025)
