    Food is very good, all the meat dishes we ordered tasted great. The desserts were just ok (yogurt & semolina cake) and the taramasalata was too thick as it had too much bread in the dip. Service is good. The restaurant did their best to give us a good table outdoors but the issue is the lane and outdoor seating space is very crowded & cramped esp. on weekend evenings.

    The eggplant and walnut muhammara dip was delicious. However, the steak came with potatoes which were undercooked and hard. We sent them back, but the new ones were the same. My wife found her steak to be too salty and also a bit chewy. My kofta was a bit dry. Overall, the food is higher quality than some of the other Middle-Eastern restaurants around Arab Street, but like most of them it is also overpriced because of the location.

    Description

    Alaturka Mediterranean & Turkish Restaurant prides itself on being the purveyor of fine Mediterranean, Turkish, and Middle Eastern dining. With indoor dining as well as alfresco seating in historic Kampong Glam, be treated to impeccable Turkish hospitality while you feast on dishes that are meticulously prepared from only the best ingredients.

    The menu is extensive, featuring hot and cold appetisers, pide, kebabs, mains, desserts, and more. The Meze Tabagi is a great introduction to the cuisine, with an assortment of popular mezes and a side of hot Turkish Lavas Bread.

    For mains, specialities include the Adana Kebab, a grilled skewer of marinated minced chicken, the Kuzu Pirzola, grilled lamb chops with homemade gravy, and the classic Moussaka. Choose from the wide range of Turkish breads to go along with the protein-heavy dishes too, from classic sourdough to ones topped with melted cheese.

    The desserts are equally tempting and will definitely satisfy anyone with a sweet tooth. If we had to choose a favourite, it would be the Kunefe, a thin vermicelli pastry baked in soft cheese and soaked in syrup. Wash all the goodness down with a comforting pot of traditional apple tea.
