    We ordered a glass of wine each and the ambience was really nice for a gathering. For food, we shared the BBQ set, mentaiko, and spicy Korean chicken among the five of us. Overall, it was a pleasant place to catch up with friends.

    I made a reservation and was seated quickly. The restaurant was not crowded during dinner time. I ordered skewers, sides, and a maki. The first dish arrived about 20 minutes later. Other dishes came in 10 to 15 minute gaps, and some were served cold. After an hour, two dishes still had not arrived. When we checked, we were told the order was missed. The staff expedited those dishes, and they arrived about 10 minutes later. The food tasted average and did not feel worth the long wait. Atmosphere was great though.

    Description

    TAAN IZA-BAR takes after the spirit of izakaya in Japan. The décor is not your typical izakaya but of an artistic impression from a local artist. The mood of the place is divided into 2; Japanese theme which has the rugged wall mural depicting the ‘yokocho’ (small alley) in Tokyo and individual modern art piece handmade with copper. Similarly, the menu design was specially crafted with interesting izakaya dishes which complements well with drinks. There are also popular dishes meant for dining with friends and families.
