Description
Delicious and healthy are often mutually exclusive traits when it comes to casual dining. However, Cafe Salivation on Race Course Road seems to have cracked the code on how to check both boxes with great vegetarian fare.

With a fuchsia and tangerine interior, decked out in cheeky velvets and sparkly chandeliers, Cafe Salivation certainly isn't shy about its look, especially when compared to its neighbouring eateries in Little India. However, the boldness isn't just kitschy fun, but also a theme found throughout their menu. Starting with gourmet Colombian coffee, moving through various cuisines including Mexican, Asian and Italian, and ending with a tantalizing selection of desserts and cakes where the eggs won't be missed, the flavours are spot-on and endlessly satisfying. There are plenty of vegan, gluten-free and no-onion and garlic options, with the majority of dishes using punchy spice blends to amp up the tastes of well-composed plates.

The Enchilada Remo is a huddle of warmed tortilla rolls filled with stir-fried veggies with a slathering of cheese and sauce. From the pastas, the Lasagna with Soya Mince and Spinach is a stack of tasty goodness, filling but not gut-busting the way that some versions tend to be. The Desi Sandwich is filled with spiced potato and cucumbers then spread with fragrant green chutney and grilled for a unique snack. All together, the fare here takes a playful approach with multi-cuisine dining, proving that vegetarians can have their fun too! (Jan 2015)
