    Quite quiet on a Monday night. Service was generally good. Waitress mixed up the teas though... Maybe can check before pouring... Pu er and chrysanthemum.. otherwise all good.

    Walking past the grand entrance of Crystal Jade Golden Palace and into the equally opulent dining space, 'sumptuous' may very well be the only worthy description. In true Crystal Jade style, the décor boasts neutral colours, underscored by shades of berry, and eye-catching light stands. It's a timeless ambience, bold enough to have you steeped in admiration, but subtle enough that it doesn't take away from the main highlight - the food.

    It is the modern, prettily plated Chinese dishes that are, for the most part, comforting in their familiarity, but will occasionally throw you for a loop with unexpected ingredients or presentations. Hint: some of the dim sum pastries come in quirky forms! Sample the Combination of Chilled Foie Gras with Japanese Sake, Chilled Abalone & Crab Meat Salad, or Sautéed Carrot Cake with XO Sauce.

    Like some of its other sibling restaurants, the menu boasts multiple pages dedicated to a variety of premium ingredients, from bird's nest, abalone, and shark's fin to exquisite soups like Buddha Jumps Over The Wall and live seafood such as lobster, Sri Lankan crab, or succulent prawns and fishes. The selection is truly vast - a blessing when catering to a range of tastes and diets - and the urge to order more than you can stomach will be strong.
