Overall the taste is good, very interesting and have bold flavors. However for the food I got, oyster which is pretty tiny (but the taste is good), and rice salad, and fish green curry (2 fillets) I think the price is overwhelmingly too pricey. I wonder if that's because they need to pay a lot of staffs, even though the restaurant is pretty tiny.

The casual fine-dining restaurant opened its doors in August 2024—welcoming guests and bringing the sizzle of Thai grilling with its signature cocktails. The name Young derives from the Thai word ‘Yang’ meaning grilled.

At YOUNG, the modern Thai-inspired menu reinvents the humble Samrub (shared meals) style dining with a contemporary flair—taking authentic Thai flavors and presenting them in an elevated way. YOUNG’s menu takes a bold approach with modern interpretations of Thai cuisine, skillfully weaving in international ingredients and techniques, with a special focus on the art of grilling.

The Chef & Founders
The menu at YOUNG is thoughtfully designed by Chef Yohans Gozal, a seasoned chef with a passion for creating culinary experiences that transcend borders. With a diverse background that includes culinary stints in vibrant culinary hubs such as Singapore, Bali, and Jakarta—Yohans brings a wealth of international flavors to the table. Having honed his skills in renowned establishments like SANTI, BAM!, KILO, MERAH PUTIH, and SANGSAKA, Yohans has cultivated a distinctive culinary style marked by innovation and precision. His culinary journey has taken him through diverse gastronomic landscapes, allowing him to master the art of blending traditional and contemporary flavors seamlessly.

In recent years, Yohans have found joy and inspiration in the rich tapestry of Thai cuisine. His exploration of the Thai culinary scene has not only deepened his understanding of flavors but has also added a new dimension to his culinary repertoire. Now, Chef Yohans is set to embark on a new chapter, bringing his culinary mastery to the forefront with the opening of a new Thai concept, YOUNG.

The Space
Designed by RafaelMiranti Architects and Sashia Rosari, Young restaurant combines heritage architecture and contemporary interiors in the leafy neighbourhood of Dharmawangsa. The space provides a seamless transition from a light and breezy ambiance during the day to a moody, sophisticated atmosphere at night. Guests can choose between informal lounge settings, typical dine-in seatings, or the exclusivity of the VIP room—each thoughtfully designed with a mix of natural materials.
