There were 7 of us. They moved us to a private room since I understand that they needed our table to be given to customers which probably came in smaller groups. Unfortunately it didnt mean better service because the food came at interval of almost 1 hour between the first dish which came out (set of sliced sliced pork - very yummy) vs the last one (mini bara chirasi - also yummy). So 3 of us have finished eating while the rest 4 tried to catch up. This is despite the frequent asking and reminding. This never happened before. Usually the service was top notch. And when we paid the bill - no apology no explanation was given. Dissappointing really . . . But of course we will come back again - hoping maybe it was just a one time of bad service.

While I've been to Hokkaido Izakaya several times in the past, this was the first time we went on a Sunday, and there happens to be an all you can eat brunch buffet (order unlimited from a menu). Its costs Rp 473K net (all inclusive). And there wasn't any drop in the quality of the food as it's made to order, and so super fresh (just like when you'd order a la carte). The menu for this all you can eat has a LOT of food, so you need to be strategic to cover most/all. We started with the Yaki Edamame - SOOOO much better than just regular edamame. The breaded Tonkatsu was crisp outside, juicy inside. The butabara and tori yakitori and chicken karaage were exactly the way they're supposed to be - perfectly grilled and piping hot, but still juicy. Overall, I would say this is a fantastic value for your money given the quality, variety, and the taste. Good job Hokkaido Izakaya team!
