    The food was ok however AMEX Platinum card holders who wished to spend their global dining credit here should be aware that the restaurant was not forthcoming when their AMEX terminal failed to work. They approached a nearby cafe to use their AMEX terminal for the charge and didn't inform the customer, as a result the charge was not eligible for the dining credit. But it was not their fault, it was AMEX however they should have communicated that truthfully to the customer but they didn't.

    Amazing food and ambiance. Cocktails and drinks were great too. Food-wise, this pace is very deserving of a Michelin star. I think service, while good, could be slightly better. A small description of our dish and what we're eating could help (especially on the more intricate dishes like the mixed appetizer). Otherwise, no complaints and would love to come back again someday.

    Description

    The capital is bursting with a surfeit of incredible Thai restaurants, many of which, like Saneh Jaan, draw on the rich history of Thailand’s vibrant culinary culture for offerings of classic Thai cuisine. Unlike most though, Saneh Jaan carries that inspiration a step further, translating nuances of Thailand’s past into their every detail. From dark woods and elegant touches that hearken back to the era of King Rama V the Great to gallery walls of Thai architectural masterpieces, Saneh Jaan’s Thai-colonial atmosphere manages to be both modern and traditional all at once.

    The fine dining fare is much the same. Tapping on a wealth of traditional Thai cooking techniques and skills, dishes look contemporary but, at their heart, actually feature a variety of familiar spices, herbs, and flavours. Devour Crab Curry with Seablite or Wildbetal Leafbush and take in cooling bites of Pomelo Salad with Crispy Shrimp before plunging back into the simmering spiciness of Stir-Fried Bitter Beans with Shrimp. Though the menu isn’t the longest around, it’s a carefully chosen, excellently executed selection so you’ll walk away beyond satisfied. And really, isn’t that the aim? (May 2016)
