    Description

Tracing its roots back to Bangkok’s original Italian restaurant, Rossano's Italian Cuisine carries on a historic tradition of food, décor and service.

Gennari Rossano opened L’Opera in 1984, changing fine dining in Thailand’s capital forever. In 2005, he sold L’Opera and retired to Bang Saray, but he couldn’t stay away from the kitchen. Three years later, Rossano returned to Bangkok to open his namesake cucina, injecting it with the same DNA that made L’Opera once so special. But Rossano’s Italian Cuisine was created with a different look and ambience than its predecessor: It is a Tuscan-style country house, light and airy, pastoral and cozy.

Nestled in a tree-shaded enclave on Soi 21/3 off Asoke Montri Road, Rossano’s an Italian taverna clad in red tile, brick and plaster on the walls, and intricate tiling on the risers of the stairs leading to two private dining rooms. The lighting is soft, chairs well-upholstered and wall niches lined with grappa bottles and Rossano’s signature pig mascots.

The menu – now under the loving care of Executive Chef Matteo Verini and General Manager Giorgio Lattuille – will gently remind you of Gennari’s values, the vivacity of Italian eating and the frenetic energy of the kitchen.
