    Description

If you’ve ever wondered about the royal treatment, making a reservation at Thara Thong may give you a good idea of what it’s like. The spacious interior mimics a traditional Thai pavilion with brick finishes and carvings etched into the teakwood walls and ceiling. You’ll be tempted to sink right onto the floor seats arranged around low tables, but take an extra moment to enjoy the stunning views of the city and Chao Phraya River that lie beyond the glass windows.

The food is kept as authentic as possible so, whether it’s Yum Som-O (Pomelo Salad with Shrimp & Coconut Flakes) or Kaeng Phed Ped Yang (Roasted Duck in Red Curry), you’ll be more than happy with their menu of exquisitely prepared Thai dishes and flavours. From the ambience – you’ll be dining to the background sounds of live Thai classical music – to dishes fit for a Royal Court; you’ll walk away having enjoyed a fully immersive royal experience. The Buzz

“Dining at the Royal Orchid Sheraton’s Thara Thong is a distinctly and traditional Thai affair. The floor-style seating tables are reminiscent of the Royal Court (table seating is also available) and the décor features plenty of polished teakwood, Thai designs and artwork in-keeping with the whole feel of the place. The menu doesn’t diverge from the Thai theme either, with local favourites including their king prawns with chilli and garlic, steamed sea bass, range of coconut based soups and curries all impressing us.” -Bangkok.com
