      Decrition

"Grok" was a significant strategic point in the past, serving as a vital link between land and water transportation. It facilitated the transfer of minerals, rocks, soil, and sand from trucks to boats for further transportation along the Mae Klong River.

The structure of Grok was partially made of metal and painted with a protective orange color.
From a distance, this orange hue appeared to be red, leading the local boatmen to colloquially refer to it as "Grok Dang”

The business of "Grok Dang" only lasted for two generations. The expiration of mining concessions and the advancements in land transportation eventually led to its closure. However, with a nostalgic longing for the old atmosphere and the lifestyle of the people along the Mae Klong River, the third generation of the family revived the place by opening a restaurant named "Grok Dang". This endeavor was meant to provide a place for the local boatmen and residents to reminisce about the past.

Today, the warmth and spirit of "Grok Dang" continue to be passed down to the fourth generation, embodied by Chef Titoom. She is deeply committed to maintaining the legacy and spirit of the establishment through the opening of the restaurant "Grok 1970." Chef Titoom aims to blend local wisdom with contemporary Thai cuisine, supporting local ingredients and dishes from her hometown of Ratchaburi.
