If you think the name Ninja Cut sounds familiar, that’s because this shiny new establishment is the little brother of popular restaurant Ninja Bowl. There’s nothing ‘little’ about Ninja Cut though, with its meatier, more substantial offerings that are sure to make your mouth water. With a column in its menu dedicated to all-day brunch eats on top of the familiar (but different) bowls, diners have an expanded range of delectable options to choose from.
Dig into the drool-worthy Oceans of Mentaiko and relish the combination of crisp toast, juicy prawns, Hokkaido scallops, and New Zealand mussels, topped off with generous helpings of mentaiko butter cream sauce. Or chow down on The Hot Cheek bowl, with its glorious, melt-in-your-mouth Japanese curry beef cheek that goes through 24 hours of braising; the accompanying cauliflower, cherry tomatoes, onsen egg, and pickled beets gives the dish a healthy spin that’ll go some way towards persuading the diet-conscious. In any case, it’s all the enjoyment without the guilt! Ninja Cut’s balanced approach towards its cooking is also reflected in its elegantly minimalistic setting, which manages to be functional without crossing into austere territory, making for a comfortable and enjoyable dining experience. So for diners who like their meals delicious without being decadent, robust without being sinful, this is definitely the restaurant for you! (Oct 2016)
