Japanese restaurants are becoming a dime a dozen in Singapore, but what makes Ichida unique is their dedication to preserving traditional Japanese techniques and presentation, so their dishes are as close to the real deal as it gets. There is an array of sushi, sashimi, and bento sets on offer, so patrons are sure to find something to fit every palate here.

Their Pitan Tofu is a unique dish that is rarely seen in Japanese eateries here. Made with the pungent Century Egg and silken tofu, this dish has an interesting mix of textures and flavours that is sure to whet your appetite. The Tatami is sure to be a hit with seafood lovers, and features chunks of sardine pressed into the shape of a net and grilled to tender perfection.

The sashimi menu is vast, and features premium cuts of fish, including Tasmanian Salmon, Hirame and Botan Ebi. Similar varieties are available on the sushi menu - there is even a Hotate Sushi, a variety of sushi made with the Japanese scallop. Feeling fancy? Dig into the Truffle Chawanmushi - the beloved steamed egg dish topped with gold foil and earthy truffle for a upscale twist. (Oct 2018)
