  Disappointing food

  Was looking forward to the food as Michelle Chong has been raving about it for the longest time but their specialty cockles was not available and the fish (not live) which was seasonal price had super mushy meat Can’t believe it was served at a posh restaurant like this. Everything else was okay as expected of a restaurant standard. Would not come back again.

  Good to try if you are around and hungry for good Tze char in a comfy but noisy setting

  Famous treasure - the more sophisticated version of its sister restaurant, Famous kitchen, is found in a significantly central location. It boosts a more tasteful decor and a classier menu.
  
  We had the roast duck, fried pork, Lotus root vegetarian dish, black pepper beef, fried Kway teow. All were very good, nothing too fanciful or extraordinary. The spread of choices lacks focus - its like modernised tze-char yet it’s got coffee shop stuff like curry fish head.
  
  I’ll return to test other dishes. My expectations are high because the famous kitchen, while less upmarket in appearance, serves predictably good and relatively inexpensive Chinese cuisine.
  
  The restaurant was very noisy, though we were seated inside a cutely designed sectioned off table. When it is full, it looks very cramped. I heard they have more private rooms.

  Food not memorable

  The restaurant was very popular at lunch time. We ordered dishes which looked yummy. The cockles and Tai Lok noodles were not available. So we had Squid with ladies fingers,
  Roasted belly pork with fermented bean curd, fried char Kway Teow, braised Hakka bean curd, curry fish head. The latter dish was really not authentic at all. The food was overall very average and we will not be returning.

  Dinner at Famous Treasure

  The service was terrible as one feels HURRIED with wait staff continually interrupting our meal by popping their heads into the semi-private cubicle we were assigned and clearing plates all the time. We find our conversations interrupted. At exactly 1 1/2 hours, they come and tell you to vacate the table. Bill was presented 20 minutes BEFORE the 90 minutes was up and it's rude because we HAD NOT asked for the bill! Restaurant was noisy and this is my 4th time there because the first 2 were alright because it was the expensive Lunar New Year dinner! Never going back.

  Great food!

  Ordered the suckling pig and Volcano chicken in advance, and never regretted! Great food, great ambience. It is good to eat out with family again!
