Copy…and paste! Bangkok’s Galleria Milano’s does its best to transport you to another country with Neo-Renaissance décor that’s very obviously influenced by the Gallery of Vittorio Emanuele II of Savoia. The charming Milanese interior boasts intricate panelling, arched windows, and a projection that mimics a window by showcasing an Italian view so every meal takes you away on an adventure.
Dishes pay keen attention to keeping the traditional flavours of Italy, no doubt due to the efforts of the restaurant’s Italian chef Armando Bonadonna, and you’ll be glad to dig into classics like Apulien Burrata Cheese with S.Daniele Ham, Spaghetti Cacio&Pepe, Forrest Mushrooms Risotto, and the evergreen Margherita pizza. Mains are heartier, with offerings like Oven Baked Codfish, Beef Tenderloin, and Veal Shank Ossobuco filling the cosy space with mouthwatering aromas. Following in the footsteps of the original gallery in Milan – from which this elegant Bangkok establishment took its inspiration – Galleria Milano has gained a well-deserved reputation for being an excellent meeting point where locals and tourists alike can come to relax and savour the authentic flavours of classic fare. (Being close to the Po Valley, Italy’s rice-growing region, Milan has long specialized in all sorts of risotti.) Bonadonna’s loaded fish stew, however, is not Sicilian, but rather Livornese, and he offers such whimsical variations as gnochetti filled with beet root and topped with a sauce of Parmigiano and poppy seeds.” -Bangkok 101
“The newly open Galleria Milano, Italian Restaurant situated in the heart of Bangkok, is a little piece (literally) of Italy. Whenever you are in Bangkok, on a business trip or on a holiday, craving for a real Italian dinner… then Galleria Milano is the restaurant you are looking for.” -Trendy Style Hong Kong
